Marco Polo

Handmade earthenware tile murals, decorated with blue engobe using the sgraffito technique and clear glazed. The tiles are glued onto a wooden support, which is hung on the wall.
The illustration recounts, in the upper part, a long fantastic journey by sea and through desert landscapes, studded with imaginary and mysterious creatures. In the lower part Marco Polo, with his father and uncle, after a long overland journey (bottom left) arrives at the court of the Great Khan Kublai, depicted from behind, seated on his throne (bottom right).
